Around 70 percent of businesses in Australia are family owned.

So it’s fair to call the family business the “heartbeat of our economy”.

And it’s a wonderfully varied group: From family-owned milk bars run by mums and dads to national organisations with many employees; from start-up first-generation businesses to those established over multiple generations of the same family; and from single-family businesses to multiple families involved in partnerships.

With so many different types of business, it’s no surprise that the aspirations of each business owner and their families vary so much too.

And, with such diverse circumstances and goals, we’ve learnt that, whilst your tax and compliance requirements are important, to be truly successful requires more than just an accountant.

You need an advisor who understands what you and your family aspire to.

That’s where Families in Business comes in: a group of advisors with the experience to help you get to where you want to be, bringing extra value to your business every step of the way.

Our long history of working with family businesses just like yours means we help you overcome the many challenges you face.

There’s no blueprint for prosperity; but there is the benefit of vast experience and business know-how…

Your Partners in Prosperity

You won’t find us under-estimating the importance of partnerships, relationships, or families.

We run our own business with these uppermost in our thoughts.

Yes, we have the minds of accountants; but we also have the hearts of fierce allies – not just cheering you on from the sidelines but helping you win your battles on the field.

Many clients have become like family to us over the years.

And many team members have been with us for decades; they’ve grown with us and brought up their own families alongside ours.

What can you expect from us?

When you choose to work with us, we take the commitment seriously. Too many families work so hard that few hours are left to do the things they love. Their business dominates their lives.

We believe that running a business should be enjoyable. It’s better for you, your employees, your clients, and your loved ones.

Some of the values you can expect when you start working with us include:

  • Understanding – remember, we run a family-owned business too!
  • Helping you achieve a better work-life balance.
  • Going beyond tax and compliance to focus on business improvement and growth.
  • Doing what we say – when we commit to doing it.
  • Working with a smile and being approachable at all times.
  • Working with trust and a duty of care for all clients.
  • Specialist tailored advice – because you’re a unique business and family.
  • No surprises – we price everything upfront so you know exactly what you’ll pay.
  • Multi-service business advisory, accounting & wealth management under the one roof.

What do we expect from you?

In return, we ask that the businesses we work with are:

  • Committed to growth and prospering more.
  • Open to new ideas and new technology.
  • Willing to be proactive to reach your goals.
  • Striving for a good balance of work and “play” in life.

Prosper More.
